This year, There are 323 feature films eligible for the 2025 Oscarsa slightly higher number compared to the 2024 edition, and the largest amount since the 2020 Oscars (366 films), the year in which AMPAS rules were relaxed to cope with the massive closure of movie theaters due to COVID.
Of the 323 feature films eligible for the 2025 Oscar, one 36% of them (116 feature films) ARE NOT ELIGIBLE to be considered in the BEST FILM category..

Films must be more than 40 minutes long.”
