Ingredients
1 baguette or French bread (from the day before, to make it firmer)
3 large eggs
1 cup of milk
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
Butter or cooking spray, for greasing
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease a large baking sheet with butter or cooking spray.
- Cut the baguette or French bread into slices about 2 cm thick and place the slices on the prepared baking sheet.
- In a large bowl, beat the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla essence and cinnamon until you obtain a homogeneous mixture.
- Dip each slice of bread into the liquid mixture, ensuring they are well soaked but not soggy. Let the excess drip off.
- Arrange the soaked bread slices on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for around 20 to 25 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and serve hot. You can sprinkle more sugar and cinnamon on top if desired. Serve with honey, jam or fresh fruit, if desired.
