Follow the step-by-step instructions for preparing your shrimp stroganoff. Use the ingredients below.

Ingredients

  • 500g of cleaned shrimp

  • 1 medium onion chopped

  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped

  • 1 tablespoon of butter or olive oil

  • 1 can of cream

  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce

  • 1/2 cup ketchup

  • 1/2 cup chopped mushrooms (optional)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1/2 cup brandy or white wine (optional)

  • Chopped parsley to decorate

Directions

  • In a large skillet, heat the butter or olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until soft and translucent.
  • Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until they are pink and opaque.
  • If you are using brandy or white wine, add it to the pan and flame. Wait until the alcohol evaporates.
  • Add the tomato sauce, ketchup and mushrooms (if using). Mix well.
  • Reduce the heat and add the cream. Stir until the sauce is well incorporated and heated through.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve the shrimp stroganoff hot, accompanied by white rice and straw potatoes.
  • Finish with chopped parsley on top to decorate.
