El slasher ‘MaXXXine’ presenta character posters

We are now just a few weeks away from the theatrical release of MaXXXinethe conclusion of the filmmaker's slasher trilogy You West.

That is why the study A24 continues the marketing campaign by revealing to the audience a handful of character posters with individual glimpses of its main pieces.

This third installment, sequel to X y Pearlhas the return of Mia Goth as 'final girl' Maxine Minx, one of the two roles she played in X.

Goth is accompanied by a luxury cast made up of Elizabeth Debicki (The Crown), Michelle Monaghan (Mission: Impossible – Fallout), Bobby Canavale (Nine Perfect Strangers), Lily Collins (Emily in Paris), Halsey (A Star is Born), Moses Sumney (Creed), Giancarlo Esposito (Better Call Saul), y Kevin Bacon (You Should Have Left).

We see all of them in the character posters that you find at the end of this note.

To have a little more context, we remind you that the plot of X was set in the '70s, followed an amateur porn crew who move to a remote farm where they intend to secretly film a movie, when they are attacked by an elderly couple who own the place, Pearl (also played by Goth), and Howard.

The sequel as a prequel, Pearlwas secretly filmed consecutively with Xsetting us in the year 1918, telling the origin story of the villainous Pearl (Goth), who, like Maxine, was obsessed with becoming a movie star, and in West's words, “about someone who aspires to have the life that the movies seem like [mostrar]and how that would affect someone.”

For its part, MaXXXinethe closing of the trilogy, sets its plot in the year 1985, six years after the events of X. The new sequel is a whodunit slasher.

SYNOPSIS MAXXXINE:

“In 1980s Hollywood, adult film star and aspiring actress Maxine Minx (Goth) finally gets her big break. But when a mysterious killer stalks Hollywood stars, a trail of blood threatens to reveal her sinister past.”

The Motion Picture Association (MPA) awarded to MaXXXine R Rating by:

“Strong violence, blood, sexual content, graphic nudity, language and drug use.”

A24 set the theatrical release of MaXXXine for July 5, 2024. Universal Pictures will distribute it in theaters throughout Mexico and the rest of Latin America.
