We already said it yesterday. We would love to see Hugh Grant (The Regime, Wonka, Glass Onion) in antagonistic role in the horror film Heretic of A24and the first trailer revealed a few moments ago, confirm that Grant's role in this new project from the good independent film company is indeed as a villain.
In addition to Grant, Sophie Thatcher (Yellowjackets, The Boogeyman), y Chloe East (The Fabelmans) complete the main cast.
The film is written and directed by Scott Beck y Bryan Woodsknown for being the co-writers – along with John Krasinski – of A Quiet Placescreenwriters and directors of Haunt, Nightlight, Spread, 65and an episode of 50 States of Fright. They are also the co-writers of the adaptation of Stephen King's material, The Boogeymanstarring Thatcher.
SYNOPSIS:
“Two missionaries get caught in a deadly game of cat and mouse after knocking on the wrong door.”
Plot details aside from the brief description are scarce. The trailer keeps the mystery of the character played by Grant, who holds the young missionaries captive, under lock and key.
A24 will premiere Heretic under wide release in US theaters on November 15, 2024.
