Last March, the original cast of the popular youth comedy John Tucker Must Diereunited 18 years after the release of the 2006 film, to announce that A sequel is being developed with the return of the original members..
They were present at the announcement made at Epic Cons Chicago, Arielle Kebbel, Jesse Metcalfey Sophia Bush.
The plot of the original 2006 film followed three ex-girlfriends of a serial cheater, who make plans to make their ex fall for a new girl in town, so they can teach him a lesson. Brittany Snow played Kate, the new girl.
During this same week, Snow participated in an episode of the Podcrushed podcast Penn Badgleyanother member of the original cast. There, both revealed that they have not had any approaches to reprise their roles:
“Penn, I don't know if you got a call, but I didn't get a call.”
Badgley replied:
“Yeah, I haven’t gotten any calls, no. I mean, maybe it’s possible like quantum physics superposition, like everything is potentially within the realm of, maybe this apple will fall, I can’t really say.” [si sucederá] “with certainty.”
“I won’t do it if you don’t do it,” Snow told his former co-star, laughing. He added: “I’d never thought of that as a potential thing. But I guess if there was a script, I would read it.”
“I've been talking to Arielle about this for years because she was trying to get it off the ground, but she didn't know what happened. And it was like, 'Go ahead with it. ' But that was the last I heard of it, was that she was trying to get it to happen. And then I guess she did? So, yeah, I'll read everything that people say. [me envíe]“They have worked very hard.”

And speaking of a script, going back to the announcement made by Kebbel, Metcalfe and Bush last March, Kebbel confirmed to the crowd at the convention that the script for the sequel had been written, and involves the aforementioned cast. Let's recall the actress's statements:
“The rumor is true. I started producing it a couple of years ago. There is a script. We are very proud of it. It involves the entire original cast.”
Kebbel said the script also “combines a great new cast” and that “Jesse may or may not get the chance to change, which would be very exciting.”
Kebbel closed by saying: “That’s pretty much all I can say for now.”
SYNOPSIS:
“John Tucker (Metcalfe) dates three different girls at once: Carrie (Kebbel), the smart girl, Heather (Ashanti), the cheerleader, and Beth (Bush), the activist; none of them are aware that she is not the only girl in John’s heart. Kate, raised by a single mother, has seen the pain caused by playboys like John Tucker and will not sit idly by.
