A24 shook the hearts of the most sensitive moviegoers by revealing this morning the official trailer of the romance drama We Live in Timemade by Florence Pugh y Andrew Garfieldand directed by John Crowley (Brooklyn).

The film's plot follows Almut (Pugh), an up-and-coming chef, and Tobias (Garfield), a recent divorcee, over several decades as the pair fall in love after a surprise encounter.

SYNOPSIS:

“Almut (Florence Pugh) and Tobias (Andrew Garfield) are brought together in a surprise encounter that changes their lives. Through snapshots of their life together – falling in love with each other, building a home, becoming a family – a difficult truth is revealed that shakes their foundations. As they embark on a path challenged by the boundaries of time, they learn to appreciate every moment of the unconventional route their love story has taken, in filmmaker John Crowley’s deeply moving, decade-spanning romance.”

Crowley directs the script written by Nick Payne (The Crown, The Last Letter From Your Lover).

Crowley has directed other feature films such as the acclaimed Brooklyn (2015), Closed Circuit (2013), The Goldfinch (2019), and episodes of series such as True Detective, Modern Love, Life After Lifey Black Mirror.

The rest of the cast is made up of Adam James, Aoife Hinds, Marama Corlett, Grace Molonyy Heather Craney.

We Live in Time will have its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September. StudioCanal sold the distribution rights to the film to the company A24 at the Cannes film market in 2023.

Ron Halpern and Joe Naftalin serve as producers, with Benedict Cumberbatch serving as executive producer alongside Leah Clarke, Adam Ackland and Guy Heeley.

A24 will premiere We Live in Time in U.S. theaters on October 11, 2024 in limited release. It remains to be seen who will distribute it in the Latin American market.
