With theatrical release already done, NEON continues to give lessons on how to create an effective marketing campaign.
The long-awaited horror project, Longlegs from the screenwriter and director Osgood Perkins (The Blackcoat’s Daughter), hit US theaters on Friday, July 12, to extraordinary box office results.
He movies grossed $22.6 million in its opening weekend, breaking several box office recordsand placing second at the box office, behind the animated film Despicable Me 4 (Despicable Me 4).
And that is precisely what serves as promotional material for a new official poster, in which NEON announces its film in large letters as “the number one movie in the United States,” for further down in a subtitle style supplement with an asterisk with a “behind Despicable Me 4”. Point for NEON.

Nice Monroe y Nicolas Cage star in the horror thriller, she as FBI agent Lee Harker, who is on the trail of the serial killer nicknamed Longlegs, played by Cage.
The study describes it as “in the vein of classic Hollywood psychological thrillers,” while critics describe it as ““the best horror movie about serial killers since The Silence of the Lambs.”
SYNOPSIS:
“FBI Agent Lee Harker (Monroe) is assigned to a serial killer case that takes unexpected turns, revealing evidence of the occult. Harker discovers a personal connection to the killer and must stop him before he strikes again.”
Alicia Witt (Urban Legend, I Care a Lot), Blair Underwood (Origin, American Crime Story), Vanessa Walsh (Murdaugh Murders: The Movie) y Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) complete the cast.
The film won the R rating by the MPA for: “Bloody violence, disturbing images and some language.”
The producers are Cage with his production company Saturn Films, Dan Kagan, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Dave Caplan, and Chris Ferguson.
Diamond Films will release Longlegs: Soul Collector in theaters in Mexico and the rest of Latin America, starting on August 29.
