“True power begins with control.”
The sequel was released in theaters last February Dune: Part Two by Denis Villeneuve, and while the filmmaker is currently working on the next installment, Dune: Messiahwe tell you that we will not have to wait long to return to the science fiction universe of Dunewell The HBO Original prequel series will premiere this year, Dune: Prophecy.
The prequel to Dune de Villeneuve, the showrunner Alison Schapkeris centered on the lives of the Bene Gesserit. The plot is set 10,000 years before the time of Timothée Chalamet's Paul Atreides, and is set to be released later this year.
Confirmation of the new release date came alongside a tantalizing new teaser for the sci-fi prequel series starring Emily Watson y Mark Strong.
The mysteries of the Bene Gesserit are not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced, as we see in the trailer available at the end of this article, which successfully uses an aesthetic that matches Villeneuve's films, making the most of its one-minute duration.
And at the center of it all is Bene Gesserit founder Valya Harkonnen (Watson), whose claim in the new trailer that her efforts are made to protect the Empire is directly challenged by the steely gaze she adopts as she ominously states that “sacrifices must be made.”
Dune: Prophecy will reveal the origins of the witches' brotherhood while delving into another politically tense chapter in the universe of Dune.
