Netflix revealed this morning the official trailer of the thriller Rebel Ridgethe most recent feature film of Jeremy Saulnierscreenwriter and director of acclaimed films such as Blue Ruin (2013) y Green Room (2015).

The streamer describes the film as a “A deeply human yet high-speed thriller that explores corruption and morality against the backdrop of bone-crunching action and spiraling suspense.”.

The preview, which shows the harsh consequences of police corruption, is available at the end of this article.

Saulnier writes and directs the film starring Aaron Pierre (Foe, Genius). They accompany him in the cast Don Johnson (Knives Out, Miami Vice), AnnaSophia Robb (Soul Surfer, Dr. Death), Emory Cohen (Brooklyn, Bikeriders, The OA), y David Denman (Mare of Easttown, The Office).

SYNOPSIS:

“Terry Richmond (Aaron Pierre) arrives in the town of Shelby Springs with a simple but urgent mission: bail his cousin out of imminent danger. But when police unjustly seize his life savings, Terry is forced to confront local police chief Sandy Burnne (Don Johnson) and his combat-ready officers. Terry finds an unexpected ally in court clerk Summer McBride (AnnaSophia Robb) and the two become caught up in a conspiracy that runs deep in the remote township. As the stakes turn deadly, Terry must draw on his mysterious past to break the department’s hold on the community, bring justice to his own family and protect Summer in the process.”

Saulnier, Vincent Savino, Anish Savjani and Neil Kopp serve as producers, with Macon Blair, Daniel J. Heffner, Matt Levin and Louise Lovegrove serving as executive producers.

Saulnier was also in charge of editing the feature film.

In addition to the acclaimed Green Room y Blue Ruinthe filmmaker has directed other films such as Hold the Dark from Netflix, and episodes of series like True Detective.

Netflix premieres Rebel Rdige September 6, 2024 worldwide.
