Following the release of the official trailer, MAX revealed a first promotional clip of the remake Salem’s Lotfrom the screenwriter and director Gary Daubermanwhich will finally be released this year, although not in theaters, but rather as an exclusive Max release.

So he decided Warner Bros. in recent months. Following the merger of Warner Bros Discoverythe studio indefinitely postponed the release of the remake, which was originally scheduled for release in September 2022. In the end, it ended up choosing to skip theaters and coming directly to the streamer on October 3, 2024.

“In EW's exclusive clip from Salem's Lot, Ben [Lewis Pullman] and Susan [Makenzie Leigh] join in Alfre Woodard like Dr. Cody, who first fears the spread of a blood disease; Jordan Preston Carter like school children's horror expert Mark Petrie; and John Benjamin Hickey as local priest Father Callahan as they investigate the Straker mansion for evidence of a dead body. Bill Camp plays Matthew Burke, a Van Helsing-esque schoolteacher.”

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:

“Haunted by an incident from his childhood, author Ben Mears returns to his hometown of Jerusalem's Lot in search of inspiration for his next book, only to discover that the town is under attack by a bloodthirsty vampire and his loyal servant.”

  • Salem’s Lot (2023) sets its plot around 1975, when King's book was first published.
  • Filming for the remake took place in Massachusetts in 2021.

This is Dauberman's second feature film as a director. His debut marked him Annabelle Comes Home from the saga The spell. The creator of said franchise, James Wanis the producer of this remake with his company Atomic Monster.

Dauberman has written films such as Annabelle, Annabelle: Creation, Annabelle Comes Home y The Nunand has adapted material from Stephen King as IT and the sequel IT: Chapter Two.

Roy Lee y Mark Wolper accompany Wan as producers, with Dauberman as executive producer. New Line Cinema is the producer, with WB as distributor.

King's book, published in 1975, has been adapted twice for television. First in 1979 with a miniseries directed by Tobe Hooper, and then in 2004 with a TNT miniseries starring Rob Lowe. This is the first time that Salem’s Lot It is adapted for the big screen.

Some time after the novel was published, King expanded the story with short stories Jerusalem’s Lot y One for the Road.
