Warner Bros. y New Line Cinema They started the marketing campaign for the horror and science fiction project, Companion.

The feature film is produced by Zach Cregger (director of Barbarian), and marks the debut of Drew Hancock as a feature film director. Hancock also wrote the script. Plot details are currently being kept under wraps.

The press release advances:

The Motion Picture Association (MPA) awarded Companion the Rated R by:

“Strong violence, sexual content and language throughout.”

With details yet to be known, we know that Companion It is one of the projects carried out under the agreement that Cregger signed with New Line, after the box office and critical success of his film Barbarianwhich in turn, marked Cregger's debut as a horror film director. Other projects that are developed under the agreement are Weaponswritten and directed by Creggers.

Raphael Margules and JD Lifshitz of BouldeLight are the producers of Companionalongside Vertigo's Roy Lee. Tracy Rosenblum and Andrew Childs are executive producers.

Warner Bros. releases Companion in theaters on January 9, 2025 in Mexico and the rest of Latin America and other international markets, and the January 10, 2025 in the United States.
