André Øvredal He is already eyeing his next project in theaters. It is a feature film without an official title at the moment, which is being prepared under the seal of Paramount Pictures. The film will be the Norwegian filmmaker's return to horror films.

Walter Hamadaformer president of DC Films and former Warner Bros. executive, will produce the project with his company 18hz, as part of his first-look deal with Paramount. Another producer is Gary Dauberman (IT, Salem’s Lot).

Deadline also reveals that there is already a script ready, written by Zachary Donohue y T.W. Burgess.

Plot details are currently under lock and key.

Øvredal has directed feature films such as Trollhunter (2010), Mortal (2020), and horror genre projects such as The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016) (read Cine3's review here), the box office hit Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (2019), and more recently addressed the topic of Dracula in The Last Voyage of the Demeter (2023).

For its part, Paramount is releasing in theaters this weekend, Smile 2sequel to his horror hit Smile (2022).

Hamada signed a multi-year deal with Paramount Pictures in November 2022. He previously worked at Warner Bros. where he helped pioneer the universe of The spelland franchise releases IT.
