Robert Zemeckisdirector of Forrest Gumpis collaborating with its stars of the same, Tom Hanks y Robin Wrightand the co-writer, Eric Rothfor his most recent project, the drama Here.

The film, based on Richard McGuire's 2014 graphic novel of the same name, Here, It takes place over a century in a single place. The camera never moves from a fixed position inside a house during the 104-minute running time.while viewers enjoy the stories of the people who settled there.

Through the same room (as well as glimpses of the time before a house was built there), we will see the characters age and decay, furniture come and go, exploring all that life has to offer.

The central couple, Richard and Margaret, are played by Hanks and Wright.

Here marks a very special reunion between Hanks and Wright, and with Zemeckis.

The director told Empire Magazine what it was like to bring together the leading actors of Forrest Gump:

“When Tom signed, the first thing I said to him was, 'We have to ask Robin if she wants to play Margaret.' He said, 'That would be fantastic.' “They have a magical screen presence together.”

Aside from the technical challenges, what role did filming an entire movie from a single camera angle play on the actors? Zemeckis explains:

“When you have actors who have chemistry and are completely on the same page, it's very intimate and powerful. The rhythm of the performance is completely real. There is no false narrative imposed on what they are doing.”

The same outlet shared a new look at Hanks and Wright, available at the end of this note.

SYNOPSIS:

“Set in a single room, it follows the many people who inhabit it over years and years, from the past to the future.”

To make Hanks and Wright's more youthful looks possible, the actors underwent digital rejuvenation, a visual effects technique that makes actors look younger. On the other hand, to make him look older, like an 80-year-old man, traditional makeup was used.

The cast is headed by Hanks and Wright, accompanied by Paul Bettany (Avengers: Endgame), Kelly Reilly (Yellowstone, Eden Lake), Michelle Dockery (The Gentlemen, Downton Abbey), Gwilym Lee (The Great, Bohemian Rhapsody), David Fynn (The Mauritanian) y Ophelia Lovibond (Minx, Rocketman).

Sony Pictures premiere Here in theaters on November 15, 2024. Released in select US theaters on November 1.
