I've been wanting to write a few lines about Somewhere down belowthird album by the Gaadge quartet – first recorded in a professional studio and second as a 'real band' – but ADHD (laughs) and routine (tears) don't help the worn-out memory. Well, fuck it, today is the day to finally release this album.
Quickly explaining the 'real band' from the above paragraph, until Yeah?from 2021, Gaadge was a project by guitarist Mitch DeLong, but since then he has been joined by Nick Boston, Ethan Oliva and Andy Yadeski to form the also sensational group's fellow countryman feeble little horse.
Returning to Somewhere down belowwhy so much desire to share it here? Well, anyone who visits PCP even sporadically knows the appreciation we have for alternative rock from the 90s. That said, think of an album that is almost a tribute to the guitar bands of that decade and at the same time a compendium of their sounds; then press play on “In Levitation”, go to “Turning” and MAKE that album.
Of Built to Spill a Pavementof Guided by Voices a Lilythere are many great references in a single work. And best of all, it doesn't sound like pastiche or pure nostalgia like you hear so much out there.
Listen to it and check it out!
