If you're wondering, why so much Mickey Mouse horror project? we tell them.
On January 1, 2024, the copyright of the 1928 short film expired, Steamboat Williegiving way to this version of the iconic character Mickey Mouse would enter the public domain.
Immediately afterwards, some horror-themed projects inspired by this version of the character began to be announced.
one of them is Mouse of Horrors of ITN Studiospreviously titled The Mouse Experiment.
The studio released the first official trailer, available at the end of this note.
OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:
“The film follows a group of friends trapped in an amusement park chased by a mutated rat: STEAMBOAT WILLIE.”
Brendan Petrizzo directed the slasher, which is NOT part of ITN Studios' announced Poohniverse.
The cast is made up Natasha Tosini, Lewis Santer, Nichaela Farrell, Michelle Bauer, Allie Moreno y Tessa Wood.
Other projects inspired by Steamboat Willie include The Mouse Trap by director Jamie Bailey and script by Simon Phillips, which was released on VOD on August 6 by Gravitas Ventures; Screamboat from director Steven LaMorte (The Mean One) with premiere announced for 2025; Mouseboat Massacre of the director Andrea M. Catinella (Piglet), coming soon to theaters.
Mouse of Horrors has not announced its release date.
