The independent film studio A24just picked up the rights to a popular horror project.
According to reports from Deadline, the studio acquired the distribution rights in the national territory (United States) of Victorian Psychowhich has in leading roles Margaret Qualley (The Substance) y Thomas McKenzie (Last Night in Soho).
The feature film is directed by Zachary Wigon (Sanctuary) with a hyphen Virginia Done (Mrs. March). The film adapts Feito's soon-to-be-published novel of the same name.
The source reveals that “Multiple American buyers were interested in the project.”
The plot is set in Victorian England, narrating the arrival of an eccentric governess to a remote Gothic mansion, where strange events arouse suspicions that she is not what she seems.
Production is scheduled to kick off in March 2025.
Dan Kagan (Longlegs) produces the project with his company Traffic, together with Sebastien Raybaud (Greenland) for Wigon, in association with Anonymous Content. Executive producers are Nick Shumaker and Bard Dorros.
Victorian Psycho will mark the second collaboration between Wigon and Qualley, after having made Sanctuary.
