Deadwyler plays Ramona, “a woman paralyzed by grief after surviving a car accident that takes her husband (Hornsby) away.” Seriously injured, Ramona must now care for her 14-year-old son (Jackson) and her 6-year-old daughter (Kahiha), alone in their rural home. Then, one day, the woman takes shape in her garden.
“Ramona assumes that the woman (Okpokwasili) is lost or insane, but as the woman gets closer and closer to the house, it becomes clear that she is no ordinary figure and her intentions are anything but peaceful. Now Ramona must band together to protect herself and her children from the clutches of the woman who simply won't leave them alone.”
The project marks a new collaboration between Deadwyler and Collet-Serra, after the actress was part of the filmmaker's previous feature film, Carry On, released on Netflix on December 13.
Collet-Serra directs the script written by Stefanak himself.
Collet-Serra is executive producer along with Deadwyler, Gabrielle Ebron, Scott Greenberg, and James Bora. The producers are Jason Blum and Stephanie Allain.
