After celebrating its World Cup this week at the Venice Film Festival, with a 13 -minute ovation and acclaimed reviews of critics, the political thriller A House of Dynamiteby the winning filmmaker of the Oscar, Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker, Point Break), presents its teaser trailerrevealed this morning by Netflix.
The advance, narrated with a raw and chilling interpretation of the famous 1990 Carl Sagan event, where the earth is a “pale blue point” and “a motorcycle of dust suspended in a sun's ray”, presents the Bigelow nuclear thriller in a very effectively. We see rapid cuts of faces and scenes where military leaders, officials and a president react to what seems to be a nuclear missile. The clock advances towards defcon 1.
The plot of A House of Dynamite It is set in the White House in real time while developing a national crisis that involves the missile launch bound for the United States.
This is Bigelow's first feature film since the launch of Detroit (2017).

Bigelow won the Oscar for best direction for The Hurt Locker (2008), becoming the second woman to achieve triumph in that category. The film also won another five Oscar, including best film, original script, and edition. Other films led by the filmmaker include the classic Point Break (1991), Strange Days (1995), K-19: The Widowmaker (2002), the acclaimed winner of the Oscar, Zero Dark Thirty (2012), for which Bigelow was also nominated for the golden statuette for best film as a producer of the same, and the aforementioned Detroit.
A House of Dynamite He plans his premiere in selected US cinemas for October 10, and in Netflix around the world on October 24.
