Lady Gaga joins the cast of 'The Devil Wears Prada 2'

The winner of the Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe, Lady Gagawill appear in the sequel The Devil Wears Prada 2.

His participation was confirmed this morning by Variety. The media also reveals that Gaga is filming her participation in the sequel in the middle of her Mayhem Ball world tour.

Gaga was seen by her fans in Milan after finishing four sold-out nights at the O2 Arena in London. The sequel is being filmed right now in the Italian metropolis.

This same year, the multifaceted artist made a cameo for the second season of Wednesday by Tim Burton, while the fashionista sequel will be his first film project since Joker: Folie a Deux (2024).

Gaga is filming her participation in the sequel in the four days of “rest” that occur after her six concerts in London and Manchester (held between September 29 and October 8), and before resuming her tour and moving to Sweden on Sunday, October 12, where she will perform at the Avicii Arena in Stockholm. The devil wears fashion is based on the book of the same name by Lauren Weisberger published in 2003, which makes a fictional portrait of the time that The author worked as an assistant to Anna Wintour at Vogue. Weisberger has published two sequels to the book; Revenge Wears Prada (2013), in which Andy works as an editor for a wedding magazine and her path crosses that of Miranda once again, and When Life Gives You Lululemons (2018), which follows Emily's career as a publicist in suburban Connecticut.

According to previous reports, the sequel story The Devil Wears Prada 2will introduce Priestly (Streep), Runway's terrifying editor-in-chief, still at the head of the magazine, grappling with publishing industry hurdles amid decline of traditional magazine publishing. He confronts Blunt's character, his former assistant, Emily Charlton, now a high-ranking executive at a luxury brand conglomerate, with the advertising money Priestly desperately needs.

The cast will have other familiar faces, Tracie thomswho played Lily, the best friend of Hathaway's character, and Tibor Feldmanwho played Irv Ravitz, president of Elias-Clark, Runway's parent company.

New faces include Lucy Liu (Charlie’s Angels, Kill Bill), Justin Theroux (Running Point, The Leftovers), BJ Novak (The Office), Pauline chalamet (The Sex Lives of College Girls), Simone Ashley (Bridgerton, Sex Education), Broadway stars, Helen J. Shen (Maybe Happy Ending), y Conrad Ricamora (Oh, Mary), the comedian Caleb Hearony Kenneth Branagh (Oppenheimer, Murder on the Orient Express) playing Miranda Priestly's husband.

The 2006 film grossed $326 million at the global box office, against a budget of $35 million, and earned Streep an Oscar nomination.

Disney announced that it had greenlit the development of a sequel in June 2024. The original installment was produced by Fox, with Disney taking the lead on the sequel following its acquisition of Fox in 2019.

20th Century Studios plans to release The Devil Wears Prada 2 to May 1, 2026. It will hit theaters as part of the 20th anniversary of the release of the original film (June 2006).
