Apple TV revealed the first teaser trailer for the second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsterswith a guest star of monstrous stature.

The advance shows the arrival of King Kongwho we saw make a surprising cameo during the finale of the first season on Skull Island, although everything seems to indicate that Kong will have a more important role in the new season.

The preview begins with some surfers in the water being warned by the coast guard to get out of the water, and that the beach is closed, which makes us think that we are about to see how they devour some poor victims, style of Shark. Spoiler alert, they do devour them, but on dry land. No one is safe here, not even out of the water.

The second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters its premiere is scheduled on Apple TV for February 27, 2026.

The spinoff series of MonsterVerse from Legendary Entertainment, expands the cinematic universe to the small screen with a plot set in the MonsterVerse timeline.

Legacy Of Monsters revolves mainly around Monarch, the shady organization linked to all Titan activity on Earth. The project features considerable kaiju action, something that has served as a great large-scale accompaniment to MonsterVerse film projects.

The first season, of ten episodes, is set in San Francisco, after the battle that devastated the city in Godzilla (2014), and explores two timelines: the present where it follows two Cate half-siblings (Anna Sawai) and Kentaro (Ren Watanabe) in search of his father Hiroshi (Takehiro Hira), and the other, in the 1950s, which follows the founding of the secret organization Monarch.

The brothers' search leads them to discover their family's connection to Monarch, through clues that take them into the world of monsters, and a labyrinth of mysteries where they collide with army officer Lee Shaw, played by real-life father and son: Kurt Russell y Wyatt Russell in different periods of time.

According to information from Apple TV, The second season will place the characters on Skull Island, Kong's favorite home. But The island is threatened by the arrival of a new underwater Titan that portends an imminent catastrophe.. Our heroes must save the day once again, and prepare to discover more secrets from Lee's past.

SYNOPSIS SEASON 2:

“The second season will pick up the story with the fate of Monarch—and the world—hanging in the balance. This dramatic saga reveals buried secrets that bring our heroes (and villains) together on Kong's Skull Island, and a mysterious new town where a mythical Titan rises from the sea. The repercussions of the past are felt in the present, blurring the ties between family, friends and enemies, all under the threat of a titanic event.”

The cast includes Sawai, Watanabe, the Russells, Kiersey Clemons, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett, Elisa Lasowskiand the new addition of the second season, Amber Middle Dogs (Prey, Novocaine) in a recurring role, playing Isabel, “an intelligent and powerful businesswoman.”

Chris Blackcreator of the series, developed it together with Matt Fraction. The directors of the second season are Lawrence Trilling y Andrew Colville. Black and Fraction are showrunners and executive producers.

Other executive producers include Joby Harold, Tory Tunnell, Matt Shakman, Andrew Colville, Lawrence Trilling, and Jen Roskind. Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita are executive producers on behalf of Toho Co. Ltd., the owners of the Godzilla character.

The MonsterVerse universe started in 2014, conformed to the moment of the movies Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017), Godzilla: The King of the Monsters (2019), Godzilla vs Kong (2020), Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024). In March 2027, the next sequel will be released in theaters, Godzilla x Kong: Supernova.

In addition to Monarch: Legacy of MonstersApple TV has an agreement with Legendary Entertainment to make multiple spinoff series based on the franchise.
