The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) announced its choice to receive the Carol Burnett Awardthe highest television career award given by the Golden Globes.

Sarah Jessica Parker to receive Carol Burnett Award for his outstanding contributions to the television industryboth in front of and behind the cameras, it was reported from the official website of the gala.

The star of Sex and the City y And Just Like That… will receive his award during the inaugural Golden Eve primetime special on Thursday, January 8, 2026three nights before the main Golden Globes ceremony.

The Golden Globes eve special, Golden Eve, will feature carefully curated professional retrospectives, never-before-seen footage and in-depth conversations with honorees, and will be part of the first-ever “Golden Week” celebrating the awards. As revealed in recent days, Golden Eve will be delivered to Helen Mirren he Cecil B. DeMille Award to the professional career and extraordinary contributions in the world of entertainment.

The Golden Eve will be broadcast live on CBS online and streaming on Paramount+ in the United States.

The 83rd edition of the Golden Globeswill be presented for the second consecutive year by Nikki Glaserhe Sunday January 11 of 2026.

Meanwhile, the Golden Globe nominations will be announced on Monday, December 8, 2025.

Helen Hoehne, president of the Golden Globes, stated in a press release:

Parker, six-time Golden Globe winner and two-time Emmy winneris best known for her portrayal of New York columnist and fashionista Carrie Bradshaw on the iconic HBO series, Sex and the Citybroadcast between 1998-2004, reprising the role in two films released in cinemas in 2008 and 2010.

Parker's career took off with a starring role on the CBS sitcom, Square Pegs (1982-1983) and in the NBC drama series and miniseries, A Year in the Life (1986-1988). He later co-starred in the ABC ensemble legal drama, Equal Justice (1990-1991).

Parker was part of films in the 90s such as L.A. Story, Leaving Las Vegasthe Halloween classic, Hocus Pocus, Striking Distancethe favorite of many The First Wives Club, Extreme Measures, Ed Wood y Mars Attacks!

After finishing Sex and the CityParker returned to film, before starring in the HBO series, Divorce (2016-19). Most recently, she reprized the role as Carrie Bradshaw in the sequel series And Just Like That…which ended its three-season run last August.
