The actor, best known for his role as Roy Kent in Ted Lasso –for which he won the Emmy Award twice consecutively for best supporting actor in a comedy series– will star in a new original comedy series from Prime Video about escorts, Variety reported.

“A divorced father (Goldstein) in Manhattan accidentally becomes a male companion in this romantic comedy about second chances, the chaos of co-parenting, and whether true intimacy can be bought.”

Prime Video gave the green light to 8 episodes.

In addition to starring in it, Goldstein is the writer, executive producer and co-showrunner of the series. Brian Gallivan is the other coshowrunner and executive producer.

Goldstein and Gallivan also collaborate on the acclaimed Apple TV series, Shrinking.

Other executive producers include Cooper Wehde, Josh Senior, and Molly Mandel.

Warner Bros. Television is the lead studio, with Amazon MGM Studios producing.

The versatile Goldstein not only plays Roy Kent in Ted Lassois also one of the writers and co-executive producer of the acclaimed Apple TV series, which is currently filming its fourth season. He is the co-creator of Shrinkingand also appeared in season 2, and will return for season 3.

Gallivan, for his part, is the screenwriter and executive producer of Shrinkingwhere he also plays the role of Stuart. He has written other series such as Happy Endings, Splitting Up Together e Imaginary Mary.
