After two nights marked by the Champions League, it was the turn of the Europa League and the Conference League to take center stage this Thursday (27). With 36 games between the two competitions, the day was full of action, great goals, Brazilian highlights and even a move worthy of Puskás, compared to the famous — and never achieved — goal that Pelé almost scored from midfield.

The matches were divided into two time slots: 2:45 pm and 5 pm (Brasília time). In the first block, Brazilian brilliance was already present. Pepê, formerly of Grêmio, provided assistance in the duel between Porto and Nice. Talisca, decisive at Fenerbahçe, avoided defeat against Ferencváros. Bruno Duarte, formerly of Vitória, guaranteed Estrela Vermelha's victory over FCSB. At Lyon, Abner Vinícius was the protagonist with a goal and an assist against Maccabi Tel-Aviv.

The biggest moment of the afternoon, however, came from Real Betis x Utrecht: after the Spaniards opened a good lead — with Antony participating directly in offensive plays — Miguel Rodríguez hit a shot from midfield, surprising the goalkeeper, fans and narrators. The great goal quickly went viral with comparisons to the “goal that Pelé didn't score”. Ludogorets' Petar Stanic also caught the eye when he scored a hat-trick against Celta Vigo.

Furthermore, a special scene marked the Feyenoord game. Robin van Persie, now the team's coach, put his son Shaqueel van Persie on the field for the first time in professional football, aged 19, in the defeat to Celtic.

Europa League: great goals, French dominance and scare at Betis

The Europa League round was intense from start to finish. At the City Ground, Nottingham Forest beat Malmö 3-0, with Yates, Kalimuendo and Milenkovic scoring. Murillo and Morato were starters, and Igor Jesus came on in the second half. The victory took Forest to 16th place, while the Swedes remain in a delicate situation, with just one point.

The duel between Real Betis and Utrecht got off to a tense start. Right at the beginning, Isco and Amrabat collided, resulting in both of them leaving within the first 15 minutes. Betis needed to reorganize quickly, but managed to open the scoring with Cucho Hernández after an assist from Antony. Even with the losses, the Brazilian striker was the highlight of the game and received praise on social media.

Among the clashes at the top of the table, Midtjylland lost its unbeaten record after being defeated by Roma 2-1. Aston Villa, taking advantage of the Danes' stumble, beat Young Boys 2-1, with two goals from Malen. Braga drew with Rangers away from home, while Lyon scored the biggest defeat of the day: 6-0 at Maccabi Tel-Aviv, with a show from Corentin Tolisso, scorer of three goals.
