'Alien: Earth' is renewed for a second season

FX made it official: there will be more Alien: Earth.

Following the conclusion of the first season, the universe's prequel series Alienwas renewed for a second season.

Along with the renewal, its creator and showrunner Noah Hawleysigned a deal with FX and Disney Entertainment Television, worth nine figures. Hawley has collaborated with FX prior to Alien: Earthwith the series Legion y Fargo.

The production of the second season of Alien: Earth will begin in London in 2026, while the first season was filmed in Thailand (via Variety).

John Landgraf, president of FX, stated in a press release:

Alien: Earthis a prequel series to the universe Alienwith a plot set in the year 2120, two years before the events of the original film classic Ridley Scottwho is involved in the series as executive producer.

The story addresses and explores the rise of the infamous Weyland-Yutani Corporation and the race between corporations to create android life, focusing on a group of soldiers who investigate the consequences of a spaceship crash-landing on Earth, only to come into contact with Xenomorphs and other threats.

This is the first project of the franchise Alien set on Earth, and the first in-universe series Alien. The saga is made up of new films, including the most recent of them, Alien: Romulus (2024).

The first season premiered on FX in the United States and on Disney Plus in Latin America last August, with good reception from critics and audiences.
