Hacks returns one last time, in which HBO Max described as “His biggest adventure yet.”
The Emmy-winning comedy series starring Jean Smart y Hannah Einbinderdebuted on official trailer for its fifth seasonwhich will mark the end of the acclaimed HBO Max original series.
In recent weeks it began to be whispered that Hacks would end with season 5. In the middle of the month, Collider asked Einbinder if this would be the case, to which the actress responded with: “Yes. I don't know what to say and what not to say. I once said something inappropriate, and then we rectified it. But it was true then, and it's still true now. So yes, it's the last season, okay?”
Now, HBO Max officially confirms that season five is the final season of Hacks. And with a premiere scheduled for April, the platform shares the preview.
The fifth and final season of the series, consisting of ten episodes, It will premiere on Thursday, April 9 at 7pm (CDMX). New episodes will be released weekly, with two new chapters on April 30 and May 7, before the series finale on May 28.

Starring Smart and Eibinder, the series created by Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello y Just Statscenters its plot on a dark mentorship that forms between Deborah Vance (Smart), a legendary Las Vegas comedian, and Ava Daniels (Eibinder), a 25-year-old outcast.
The creators, Downs, Aniello and Statsky, have long said that they always knew what the last scene of the series was, and recently called it “a perfect closure.”
In addition to the co-stars, the cast includes Downs, Megan Stalter, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Mark Indelicato, y Rose Abdooalong with guest stars Robby Hoffman, Tony Goldwyn, Kaitlin Olson, Jane Adams, Lauren Weedman, Christopher McDonald, Poppy Liu, Johnny Sibillyamong others.
They join the fifth season Leslie Bibb (The White Lotus), Cherry Jones (The Handmaid’s Tale, Succession), y Ann Dowd (The Handmaid’s Tale).
Hacks established itself as a solid success for the streamer, with more than 50 Emmy nominations, including a win for best comedy series for season three, and Emmys for Smart and Eibinder for best leading and supporting actress in a comedy series, respectively, at the 2025 ceremony.
In terms of its rating, and according to HBO Max, the fourth season established itself as the best performing to date.
Executive producers are Downs, Aniello, Statsky, Michael Schur, David Miner, and Morgan Sackett. Downs and Aniello have directed several episodes. Universal Television produces the series.
