The second season of the series FX, Alien: Earthhas just made his first big signing.
It is about Peter Dinklagethe actor remembered by the vast majority for his performance as Tyrion Lannister in the epic HBO series, Game of Throneswhich earned him four Emmy Awards.
Dinklage joins in a regular role for the second season from the universe prequel series Alienfrom the creator and showrunner Noah Hawleyaccording to Deadline reports.
At the moment there are no details about Dinklage's role.
This will mark a new partnership between the actor and FX, where he previously worked in a regular role on Nip/Tuckand most recently, as a guest star on season 1 of The Lowdown.
Dinklage's most recent projects include the series Dexter: Resurrection from Showtime, the reboot The Toxic Avengerand two films that had their premiere at Sundance 2026: Idiots y Wicker.
The production of the second season of Alien: Earth one has scheduled to begin in May at London's Pinewood Studioswhere the movie was filmed Alien original from 1979, as well as Alien 3and the prequel Prometheus. The first season was filmed in Thailand.
Alien: Earthis a prequel series to the universe Alienwith a plot set in the year 2120, two years before the events of the original film classic Ridley Scottwho is involved in the series as executive producer.
The story, starring Sydney Chandler as the humanoid Wendy, addresses and explores the rise of the infamous Weyland-Yutani Corporation and the race between corporations to create android life, focusing on a group of soldiers who investigate the consequences of a spaceship crash-landing on Earth, only to come into contact with Xenomorphs and other threats.
This is the first project of the franchise Alien set on Earth, and the first in-universe series Alien. The saga is made up of new films, including the most recent of them, Alien: Romulus (2024).
The first season premiered on FX in the United States and on Disney Plus in Latin America in August 2025, enjoying a good reception from critics and audiences.
