With 11 registered in the VNL, the Brazilian B Volleyball Team is called up

A Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV) announced, on Wednesday night (18), the 18 players called up for the Brazilian women's national team Ban alternative group to the one that will compete for the League of Nations (VNL) and the South American Championship in 2026. The team will be trained by Wagão, assistant José Roberto Guimarães in the main team and coach of Paulistano Barueri.

The list is made up of 11 athletes who were registered for the VNL: the setters Kenya and Vivian, the opposites Jaque Schmitz and Jheovana, the wingers Karina and Maiara Basso, the central players Lanna, Larissa Besen and Lívia, and the liberos Kika and Paulina. Presence in the list for the tournament is not a guarantee of being called up, as the final decision is made by Zé Roberto.

17 called up to Team B play in the Superliga. Striker Mari Brambilla, from Polish club LKS Lodz, is the only one playing abroad.

The team led by Wagon will compete in the Copa Sudamericana in July, in Peru. The athletes will perform on June 8th, at the Volleyball Development Center, in Saquarema (RJ).

Athletes from Team B can serve for Team A, according to Zé Roberto

Confirmation that the Brazilian volleyball team would now have an alternative team came from Zé Robertoafter the 2025/26 Women’s Super League final. The initiative is part of the planning for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

The three-time Olympic champion coach explained that, through the division, it will be possible to monitor more players in training, competitions and friendlies. Furthermore, there is the possibility that those called up for the Selection B join the main team throughout the season.

— We are going to work with two teams exactly to have Team B very close to Team A. It is impossible to call up and work with 34, 32 players. From Team B, you are one step away from Team A, and from Team A, there may be a return to Team B.
