“Over 40 years ago… He saved his universe. He inspired a generation. Now, He-Man returns.”
With that premise, Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Films notify the audience of the imminent theatrical release of the long-awaited live-action Masters of the Universe.
The studios continue to prepare for the big screen release, debuting the final trailerfrom the film directed by Travis Knight (Bumblebee, Kubo and the Two Strings).
The main cast includes Nicholas Galitzine (The Idea of You) as He-Mannext to Camila Mendes (Riverdale) like the warrior Don't wait, Alison Brie as the villain Evil-Lyn, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-at-Arms, Morena Baccarin (Greenland, Deadpool) as The Sorceress, Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids) as robot, James Purefoy (The Recruit) as King Randory Jared Leto (Morbius) as Skeletor.

In the live-action of Masters of the universe:
“After 15 years apart, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam (Galitzine) back to Eternia, where he discovers that his home has been destroyed by the evil rule of Skeletor (Leto).
To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies, Teela (Mendes) and Duncan/Man-at-Arms (Elba), and embrace his true destiny as He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe.”
The cast also has Charlotte Riley (Trying) as Queen Marlena, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson (Captain America: Brave New World) as Malcolm/Fisto, Sam C. Wilson (House of the Dragon) like Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson (The Northman) as Goat Man, Kojo Attah (In the Grey) as Tri-Klops, Skeletor's henchmen, Jon Xue Zhang (The Brothers Sun) as Ram-Man, Sasheer Zamata (SNL, Agatha All Along) as Suzie, and Christian Vunipola (Queenpins) like Hussein.
Knight directs the script written by Chris Butler. There was previously a draft script written by David Callaham, Aaron Nee, and Adam Nee.
The film is based on the popular and well-known Mattel toy franchise launched in 1982. In the 1980s it had an animated series lasting two seasons and 130 episodes, while in 1987 it was adapted for the first time to the big screen in live action, starring Dolph Lundgren. Over time, animated series have had numerous reboots.
Producers are Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Robbie Brenner, Steve Tisch, and DeVon Franklin, with executive producers Ynon Kreiz, Bill Bannerman, and David Bloomfield.

El live-action It will hit theaters on June 4, 2026 in Latin America and on June 5 in the United States. It will be screened in premium formats.
