As part of the Disney+ Day celebration, the mouse house premiered on the streamer Disney+the live-action remake of Pinocchiofrom the filmmaker Robert Zemeckiswho took charge of the script and direction of the film starring the Oscar winner Tom Hanks.
Being available to be viewed on the streamer since September 8, Disney continues the marketing campaign that went unnoticed by many, and that, however, in the final stretch of it was squared with the promotional material.
The most recent are three character posters centered on Hanks, who plays Geppetto, the puppeteer who wishes he had a child; the Blue Fairy, played by Oscar nominee, Cynthia Erivo (Harriet, The Outsider), and finally, Pinocchio himself, who is voiced by Benjamin Ean Ainsworth.
The rest of the cast complete it Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Inception) lending his voice to the animated narrator Jiminy Cricket, or as we know him in our country, Jiminy Cricket, Lorraine Bracco (The Sopranos, Goodfellas), Luke Evans (Beauty and the Beast, Nine Perfect Strangers) y Keegan-Michael Key (Friends From College, Key and Peele).
The character posters are at the end of the note. Meanwhile we tell you about the project.
The film is based on the 1883 Italian book by Carlo Collodi, and the 1940 Disney film, with the project in development since 2015.
Zemeckis co-wrote the script with Simon Farnaby (Wonka) y Chris Weitz (Cinderella).
