minutesTo make your Chess Chicken, use the ingredients below and follow the instructions for preparation.
Ingredients
500g diced chicken breast
1 green pepper cut into cubes
1 red pepper cut into cubes
1 onion cut into cubes
1 carrot cut into thin rounds
100g sliced mushrooms (optional)
3 tablespoons of soy sauce
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
2 minced garlic cloves
1 tablespoon cornstarch (cornstarch) dissolved in 1/4 cup water
Salt and pepper to taste
Sesame oil (optional) to finish
Directions
- In a bowl, season the chicken cubes with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, salt and pepper to taste.
Let it marinate for about 15-20 minutes. - In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
Add the marinated chicken and stir-fry until cooked through and browned on all sides.
Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside. - In the same skillet, add 1 more tablespoon of vegetable oil, if needed.
Add chopped onion, chopped garlic and sauté until soft and lightly browned. - Add the bell peppers, carrots and sliced mushrooms to the skillet.
Sauté for a few minutes until the vegetables are slightly soft but still crunchy. - In a small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of soy sauce with the cornstarch dissolved in water.
Pour this mixture into the skillet and stir well so that the vegetables are coated with the sauce. - Add the chicken back to the skillet and mix it all together.
Cook for a few more minutes until the sauce thickens and the flavors blend well. - If desired, add a few drops of sesame oil to enhance the flavor.
- Serve the chess chicken hot with white rice or noodles.
