Ingredients

  • 2 cups of cornmeal

  • 1 cup of sugar

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1 pinch of salt

  • 200g guava paste in pieces

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a round pan with butter and sprinkle with cornmeal.
  • In a large bowl, mix the cornmeal, sugar, salt and baking powder.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk and oil. 
    Mix well.
  • Pour the liquid mixture over the dry ingredients and mix until you obtain a homogeneous dough.
  • Pour the dough into the prepared pan and then distribute the guava pieces over the dough, pressing them lightly.
  • Place in the preheated oven and bake for around 35-40 minutes, or until the cake is golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool slightly before unmolding.
  • Serve the cornmeal cake with guava paste in pieces and enjoy!
