2 cups of cornmeal
1 cup of wheat flour
2 cups of sugar
3 eggs
1/2 cup of oil
1 cup of milk
1 tablespoon baking powder
A bit of salt
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Grease a cake pan with butter and sprinkle with cornmeal or wheat flour. - In a bowl, mix the cornmeal, wheat flour, sugar and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs lightly.
Add the oil and milk, mixing well. - Pour the liquid mixture into the dry mixture and stir until all ingredients are well combined.
- Add the baking powder and mix again, but don’t mix too much, just enough to incorporate the yeast into the dough.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool before unmolding.
