Ingredients

  • 2 cups corn flakes (pre-cooked corn flour)

  • 1 cup of sugar

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence (optional)

  • A bit of salt

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a cake tin.
  • In a large bowl, mix the corn flakes and sugar.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk, oil and vanilla essence (if using). 
    Mix well.
  • Pour the liquid mixture into the bowl with the corn flakes and sugar. 
    Stir until you obtain a homogeneous mass. 
    Add a pinch of salt.
  • Lastly, add the baking powder and mix gently.
  • Pour the dough into the greased pan.
  • Bake the cake in the preheated oven for about 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool before unmolding.
