For your strawberry pavé to be incredible, use the ingredients below and follow the preparation instructions.

Ingredients

  • 1 can of condensed milk

  • 2 cans of milk (use the empty condensed milk can to measure)

  • 3 egg yolks

  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence

  • 1 package of cornstarch cookies

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, washed and chopped

  • 1 cup of cream

  • 2 tablespoons of sugar

  • Whole strawberries to decorate

Directions

  • In a pan, mix the condensed milk, milk, egg yolks and cornstarch. 
    Place over medium heat and stir continuously until the cream thickens. 
    This should take about 10 minutes.
  • Remove the cream from the heat and add the vanilla essence. 
    Let the cream cool completely.
  • In a container, mix the cream with the sugar until you obtain a firm whipped cream.
  • Now, it’s time to assemble the pavé. 
    On a platter, start with a layer of cornstarch cookies at the bottom.
  • Then add a layer of the cream you prepared.
  • Add half of the chopped strawberries over the cream.
  • Repeat layers, starting with cookies, followed by cream and finally strawberries.
  • On top, put the whipped cream you prepared.
  • Decorate the pavé with whole strawberries.
  • Place the pavé in the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
