Follow the preparation instructions, using the ingredients listed below to ensure your pot roast turns out great.

Ingredients

  • 500g of meat for the pan (can be muscle, chuck, soft drumstick, etc.), cut into medium pieces

  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into thick slices

  • 1 medium onion, chopped

  • 3 garlic cloves, chopped

  • 2 ripe tomatoes, chopped

  • 2 carrots, cut into slices (optional)

  • 2 bay leaves

  • 1 tablespoon of oil or olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon paprika (or sweet paprika)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Hot water

Directions

  • In a large pan, heat the oil or olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the meat cut into pieces and brown on all sides.
  • Add the chopped onion and garlic. 
    Sauté until the onion becomes transparent.
  • Add the chopped tomatoes, bay leaves, paprika, salt and pepper to taste. 
    Stir well to incorporate the seasonings.
  • If using carrots, add them now.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and cover the pan. 
    Cook for about 1 hour or until the meat is tender, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the sliced ​​potatoes and continue cooking until the potatoes are soft and the sauce has thickened.
  • Adjust salt and pepper if necessary.
  • Remove bay leaves before serving.
