Ingredients
- For the caramelized banana:
3 ripe bananas, cut into slices
1 cup of sugar
2 tablespoons of water
- For the cake batter:
2 cups of wheat flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup softened butter
1 cup of sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
1 cup of natural yogurt
Directions
- For the caramelized banana:
- In a pan, mix the sugar and water.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture turns golden in color.
- Add the banana slices and cook for a few minutes until the bananas are caramelized.
- Remove from heat and set aside.
- For the cake batter:
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Grease a cake pan with butter and sprinkle with flour. - In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Reserve. - In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar until you obtain a creamy mixture.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Add the vanilla and mix. - Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the yogurt.
Start and end with the dry ingredients. - Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan.
Place the caramelized bananas over the dough. - Cover with the remaining dough.
- Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool for a few minutes before unmolding.
