Ingredients

  • 4 eggs

  • 1 cup of sugar

  • 1 cup sifted wheat flour

  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder

  • 1/2 cup hot water

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease and flour a mold approximately 22 cm in diameter.
  • In a bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy. This step may take 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Add the sifted wheat flour little by little to the egg and sugar mixture, stirring gently to combine. It is important not to stir vigorously to avoid losing aeration.
  • Dissolve the baking powder in hot water and add to the dough, mixing gently.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake in the preheated oven for approximately 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Remove from the oven and let the cake cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
