Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons of wheat flour

  • 4 tablespoons of sugar

  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

  • 3 tablespoons of milk

  • 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil

  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla essence

  • 1 tablespoon chopped semisweet chocolate (optional)

  • 1 tablespoon chopped walnuts or chestnuts (optional)

Directions

  • Choose a mug large enough to prevent the dough from boiling over while baking.
  • Brush the inside of the mug with a little oil or butter to prevent the cake from sticking.
  • In a small bowl, mix the flour, sugar, cocoa powder and salt.
  • Add milk, vegetable oil and vanilla essence to the dry mixture. Stir well until you obtain a homogeneous mass.
  • If using chopped semisweet chocolate, add to the batter and stir to distribute evenly.
  • Add the chopped walnuts or chestnuts to the dough and mix.
  • Place the mug in the microwave and bake on high for approximately 1 minute and 30 seconds to 2 minutes. The time may vary depending on the power of your microwave. Keep an eye on it to prevent the cake from overflowing.
  • Insert a toothpick into the center of the cake; If it comes out clean, the cake is ready. Otherwise, continue cooking in 10 second increments until done.
  • Let the cake cool for a few minutes before eating. It will be extremely hot right after it comes out of the microwave.
  • If desired, you can sprinkle powdered sugar, add a scoop of ice cream, or decorate with whipped cream.
