New Line Cinema y Warner Bros. They have launched a new horror projectfor which they already signed David Chase as its director. Chase is the creator of the acclaimed series The Sopranos.
Terence Winterproducer of The Sopranos, joins Chase in the feature film. Winter and Chase will co-write the script and produce.
The Deadline source explains: “Chase plans to direct the film, in what is Chase and Winter's first screenplay and feature-length production collaboration.”
The project, which does not yet have an official title, is set at New Line as part of “Chase's first-look deal at Warner Bros.”
The producers are Chase and Nicole Lambert (The Many Saints of Newark) for Riverain Pictures. Rachel Winter is executive producer for Tangerine Pictures, and Winter for Cold Front Productions.
In addition to The SopranosChase created Almost Grownand co-wrote the script for The Many Saints of Newark, a prequel film to the aforementioned acclaimed HBO series. His debut as a feature film director marked him Not Fade Away (2012). Winter created the also acclaimed Boardwalk Empire for HBO, and wrote the script for The Wolf of Wall Street by Martin Scorsese.
New Line has produced horror projects such as the franchise Final Destination, The Conjuring y los spinoffs Annabelle y The Nun, The Rite, A Nightmare on Elm Streetto the saga IT, Malignant, Evil Dead Riseamong others.
