Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Tom Hardy to star in Cary Fukunaga's 'Blood On Snow'

The director Cary Fukunaga (No Time To Die, True Detective) will direct to Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Bullet Train, Fall Guy) y Tom Hardy (Venom, Bikeriders) in the adaptation Blood On Snow by the Norwegian author Jo Nesbø.

Nesbø will write the script, with revisions by Ben PowerIt is based on Nesbø's bestselling novel of the same name (via Deadline).

The thrilling story takes place in 1970s Oslo, where two rival gang leaders, Hoffman and the Fisherman (Hardy), compete for control.

Filming is scheduled for later this year. The crime thriller will be offered to buyers at the TIFF 2024 film market.

SYNOPSIS:

“Hoffman’s trusted hitman, Olav (Johnson), is a cold, efficient assassin, perfect for the job. But beneath his ruthless exterior lies an unexpected intelligence and an unwavering moral code shaped by a troubled childhood… When Hoffman orders his own wife murdered, Olav’s principles collide with his loyalties. Hardy will produce the film with Dean Baker for their Hardy Son & Baker banner, alongside Fukunaga, Nesbø, Niclas Salmonsson, and Hayden Lautenbach. Mike Larocca and Michael Schaefer will also produce. Their company, Department M, will finance the project.

Fukunaga's most recent directorial credits include the series Masters of Air from Apple TV+, and the Bond saga film, No Time to Die (2021). His other credits include the series True Detective and the movie Beasts Of No Nation.

Taylor has a busy few months ahead of her, with the releases of Kraven the Hunter (December 13), Nosferatu (December 25), and 28 Years Later (June 20, 2025). On the other hand, Hardy will release the sequel Venom: The Last Dance on October 25th.
