AHS 13: There will be season 13 of 'American Horror Story' with returns of Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson

Ryan Murphy celebrated Halloween by sharing news about his anthology series to his followers American Horror Story of FX.

The news confirms that there will be season 13 of American Horror Storyand will have a cast full of long-awaited returns.

In a video shared by Murphy on Halloween, he announced the cast of the next season of the series, whose premiere is scheduled for 2026.

The AHS13 cast includes Ariana Grande, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman y Jessica Lange.

“Surprise, bitch. You probably thought you got rid of me,” is the phrase uttered by Madison Montgomery, Roberts' character from the season American Horror Story: Coven.

All of the announced cast members have previously collaborated with Murphy, either on AHS or some of his other creations for television. Grande starred Scream Queens; AHS 13 will reunite her with her co-stars, Roberts and Lourd.

Roberts is one of Murphy's frequent collaborators, playing different characters in the universe of AHS. Similarly, Paulson and Peters have been part of several seasons of the anthology series (Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, Hotel, Roanoke, Cult, Apocalypse), and are original members of the first season, Murder House. Both have also starred in other series created by Murphy.

Lange's return is a surprise, since it was the actress herself who, this same year, ruled out her return to AHStelling an Irish radio station: “Oh no. I mean, I haven't done it in over 10, 12 years, so no, I won't do it.”.

Lange is one of the original members of the first season of AHSalong with Paulson and Peters.

Bassett, for his part, was part of the seasons Coven –which marked his debut in AHS–, Freak Show, Hotel, Roanokey Apocalypsein which she reprized her role as Marie Laveau from Coven. The actress also co-produces the series 9-1-1 by Murphy.

Finally, the Oscar winner, Kathy Batesdoes not retire. The actress had announced a goodbye to acting in September 2024, with her last role being the reboot of the series Matlockpremiered on CBS that same month. The reasons for her retirement were explained by the actress herself: “Everything I've prayed for, worked for, worked my way up for, suddenly I can be asked to use it all. And it's exhausting. This is my last dance.”.
