The psychological thriller Apartment 7Afrom the screenwriter and director Natalie Erika James (Relic), and the protagonist Julia Garner (Ozark) found a distributor. It will be the streamer Paramount+ which will release it exclusively in the United States and in select international markets in the fall of this year, Deadline announced.
The film is a prequel to the horror classic Rosemary’s Baby de Roman Polanski.
SYNOPSIS:
“When a young dancer (Garner) suffers a devastating injury, she finds herself drawn to dark forces when a quirky, well-connected elderly couple promises her a shot at fame. Set in 1965 New York City, the film tells the story before Roman Polanski's horror classic, Rosemary’s Babyexploring what happened in the apartment before Rosemary moved in.”
It is based on the novel Rosemary’s Baby by Ira Levin. The story was written by Skylar Jameswith a script Natalie Erika James, Christian Whitey Skylar James.
In addition to Garner, the main cast includes Dianne Wiest (Mayor of Kingstown), Jim Sturgess (One Day), y Kevin McNally (Pirates of the Caribbean). Other cast members are Marli Siu (Everything I Know About Love), Andrew Buchan (All the Money in the World), Rosy McEwen (Blue Jean), y Kobna Holdbrook-Smith (Wonka).
Jeff Grossman, executive VP of programming at Paramount+, said in a press release the following:
“Apartment 7A is the perfect way to kick off the Halloween season. Director Natalie Erika James and the prodigious creative team have created a chilling and clever new entry to the genre.”
The Paramount Plus Original Movie is made in association with Paramount Pictures, Platinum Dunes, Sunday Night Production. It is based on the novel Rosemary’s Baby by Ira Levin.
The producers are John Krasinski, Allyson Seeger, Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller. Executive producers are Vickie Dee Rock and Alexa Ginsburg.
