Therefore, «Dinner (bansan = Abendessen)» – As I have often mentioned, I have been enjoying Japanese bands for a while now, as their style and chord progressions are often noticeably different from those of western acts. A good example is the indie band Aruyue from Tokyo – their new single shows many facets of typical Japanese music, including the interesting and often changing rhythm and the slightly jazzy undertones that you can hear every now and then. One of my hits of the year, for sure.
Ferri-Chrome «Transparent Silk» – and Japan again, but this time with classic western indie pop music. Their role models include Pale Saints and Pains of Being Pure at Heart, and you can hear it. Very cool!
