Awards season is still in full swing.
This Sunday, February 22, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (British Academy Film Awards; BAFTA) presented the prizes corresponding to the 79th edition of the BAFTA Awardrecognizing the best films of 2025.
In a ceremony hosted by Alan Cumming from the Royal Festival Hall in London, One Battle After Anotherwhich came in as the most nominated film with 14 nominations, swept the gala taking home the awards for Best Film, Best Director (Paul Thomas Anderson), Best Supporting Actor (Sean Penn), Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, and Best Editing.
While Sinnersthe second most nominated with 13 nominations, took home the awards for Best Original Screenplay, Best Supporting Actress (Wunmi Mosaku) and Best Original Score. In addition, it broke the record as the most awarded film by a black director at the BAFTAs.
