Bahia announced the loan of defender Marcos Victor to Santa Clara, in Portugal's first division. He has a contract with Tricolor until 2027, but will defend the Portuguese team's colors until the end of the European season, in June this year.

At 24 years old, Marcos Victor was used as a starter in the first two rounds of the 2026 Bahia Championship, when Bahia entered the field with an alternative team and beat Jequié and Bahia de Feira. The defender, however, lost space with Rogério Ceni and was not even listed for the team's last three commitments.
Marcos will leave Brazil for the first time to defend Santa Clara, a team that had a good campaign last season and finished in fifth place in the Portuguese Championship, a performance that sealed their ticket to the Conference League (they ended up eliminated in the qualifying phase). This year, however, the club is in trouble in the national tournament and has not won in eight matches.

Revealed by Floresta and with a long history in Ceará football, Marcos Victor emerged in Ceará, between 2021 and 2022, before being hired by Bahia in 2023. Bahia champion and starter at the beginning of that season, the defender lost space until being loaned to Athletico-PR the following year.
For Furacão, he played just one game and returned to Bahia before a new loan that saw him return to Ceará, the club he defended in the final stretch of last year. Marcos Victor even left with a bitter taste after the club's relegation.
