Ingredients

  • 1 cup of sugar

  • 1 cup cornstarch

  • 1 cup of wheat flour

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence (optional)

  • Butter and flour to grease the pan

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease a cake pan with butter and sprinkle flour to prevent the cake from sticking.
  • In a large bowl, mix the sugar, cornstarch and wheat flour.
  • Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil and vanilla extract to the dry ingredient mixture. Mix well until you obtain a homogeneous dough.
  • Add the baking powder to the dough and mix gently until it is well incorporated.
  • Pour the batter into the greased pan and bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for a few minutes before unmolding. Then let it cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
