Paraguay – On the second day of Junior Pan American Games, in Asuncion, the first with podium disputes, Brazil started in the lead of the medal board. Noteworthy for judo, swimming and rowing, the country reached 21 medals, 11 gold, five silver and five bronze on Sunday (10). Check out the video above.

Remo inaugurated the podium

Remo guaranteed a complete podium in Asuncion and was the first modality to guarantee medal for Brazil, with the first gold won by João Ferreira and Daniel Passold, at Double Skiff. The duo came back in the team dispute and also secured silver alongside Marcello Oliveira, Andrei Alves, Arthur Aguiar, Diogo Gonçalves, Marcelo de Almeida, Kayki Siqueira and Miguel Marques. The last two completed the triad, with the bronze in the Double Skiff.

Four golds in judo

One of the most traditional modalities of the Olympic program, Brazilian judo was also protagonist on the podium this Sunday (10). Clarice Ribeiro (-48), Rafaela Cavalcanti (-52 kg), Bruno Nóbrega (-66kg) and Bianca Reis (-57kg) secured the title and the place for Lima 2027. Lucas Takaki, from 60kg category, led to the bronze medal.

Rain of swimming medals

The premiere of swimming at Pan Júnior had nine podiums, with three gold. Gustavo Saldo (200m butterfly), Stephan Steverink (400m free) and Ana Julia Amaral (200m butterfly) were champions. Guilherme Camassato (100m chest), Gabriel Moura (200m butterfly) and Leticia Romão (400m free) took the silver medal, while Leonardo Alcantara won the bronze in the 400m free. Brazil also guaranteed the title in the reshanes, with the gold in the 4×100 female and male.

Mountain Bike, Shot and Fencing also medalized

Cycling Mountain Bike secured two medals for Brazil, with gold from Luiza Cocuzzi and Eiki Yamauchi's bronze. In the sports shooting, Caio de Almeida was a silver medalist in the 10m air gun, and Marcus Pinto, from fencing, was bronze in the individual saber.

What's coming

This Monday (11), Pan Júnior will debut the rhythmic gymnastics, tennis and Squash, as well as disputes for medal in modalities such as rowing, judo, swimming and skateboarding.
