The independent film studio A24 has signed a new collaboration with the filmmaker twins Danny and Michael Philippoudirectors of the 2023 horror sensation, Talk to Mewhich was distributed by this same indie studio.
The brothers are best known among horror movie buffs for their YouTube channel where they go by the nickname Rack Rack.
A24 and the Philippou's new horror project is officially titled Bring Her Back. According to reports from Deadline, the film will star the two-time Oscar nominee, Sally Hawkins (Wonka, The Shape of Water).
Filming will begin during the summer and will be the second feature film by the Australian-born twins. His film debut, Talk to Me, became the highest-grossing film in A24 history in the US upon its big-screen release in summer 2023. At the global box office it grossed $92 million, against a budget of $4.5 million. . The Philippou are also developing a sequel to Talk to Meas well as a documentary inspired by his own journey into the world of international clandestine death fighting.
Plot details are being kept under wraps on the secret project, which is being produced by Samantha Jennings and Kristina Ceyton of Causeway Films, whose credits Talk to Me, The Babadook y The Nightingale.
It is not yet known whether Bring Her Back will be brought to the Cannes market by A24.
