Capitol «Your Heart Is Everywhere» – it’s actually been a while since I mentioned the Canadian quintet Capitol on the blog. Which wasn't because I didn't like the music they've released in recent years – on the contrary, they have a remarkably high level of stylish (slightly melancholic) guitar music, sometimes reminiscent of BritPop, sometimes shoegaze or even reminiscent of post punk. Unfortunately, they are still relatively unknown. Let’s see if their new and thoroughly successful album “Sounds Like a Place” can change that – I wish they could.
TEARS «Come and kiss me» – one of the big surprises for me in 2023 was the German duo TRÄNEN, who particularly impressed me with their cover version of “Duell der Kulturen”. Now their new single has been released, which again ties in with the well-known 80s retro sound that the two of them master so well.
